EVENT CONCEPT
In a nutshell: Live music + Extreme gravity assisted sports & demonstrations in one massive Festival
Duration: 2-3 days
Venue: McPhillamy Park - Mount Panorama, Bathurst, NSW
Venue: McPhillamy Park - Mount Panorama, Bathurst, NSW
Distance: 2.5hrs drive from Sydney, 3hrs from Canberra
Timing: Summer 07/08
ON-TRACK - Sections of the Mount including the Esses, Forrest's Elbow & Conrod straight would become the gravity assisted extreme sportsman's playground hosting disciplines such as Street Luge, Buttboard, Downhill Skateboarding, In-Line Speed Skating, G-Bikes and Dirtsurfers. Demonstrations including Slalom Skateboarding & Carveboarding would take place along Brock Skyline.

OFF-TRACK - Perched high over Bathurst & dominating Brock Skyline, McPhillamy Park would be converted into live music central for 2 days with a fully amped line-up of Aussie rock & hip-hop bands. Throw in a bucketload of other demo-sports such as Freestyle half-pipe, FMX, BMX, a 24hr Fuel TV Chill out zone & other gravity related rides and we will have one hell of a party.

I would go to this - it would rock!!!! 50-80 bucks is cheap - are you going to get some cool bands to come and play

Hell yes! I hope this happens, we need more events like it.
I know a crap load that is going turn out for this one. Truly looks like it could be the biggest event we'll have in OZ. 2-3 days of pure adrenalin!

Sounds great - I would suggest though that you find out what FMX and BMX athletes are aviliable at the time as many are in the States on professional circuits for about 8 mths of the year! You definitely want the pro's here!
pleanty of good fmx and bmx riders still in aus only few go to the states and if its in summer here as in nov dec and jan then most are in aus for bmxgames in sydney jan 26th

This would be really gr8 for the town would defiantly help the bx economy
If it's "gravity assisted" why is there skydiving? I know several skydiving teams etc that would be up for it. EG go fast Skydive Nowra
this has great potential. but a model of something like the "maryhill festival of speed" HAS to be considered. it allows for the common folk not only to carve it up but to also compete, all under very strict safety guidelines based on those of the IGSA.
